That
day when I was in my way to the university, we stopped by the gas station,
and this scene stolen my attention. Is it accepted in this 21th century for a
child below 18 to be a driver? Or even to sit in the place of a driver? Why is
it accepted to put ourselves in such a situation that, a simple mistake from
that child may lead to the death of another, or even a risk of having an
accident?
Children
in younger ages are given the right from their parents to drive cars, trucks,
motorcycles and any other transportation means. Studies shown that the rate
of accidents is increasing nowadays, from this point, it's important to
highlight the importance of educating parents that these lives are precious and
we can’t scarify with them easily. When children drive, then they're exposed to
a direct accident, because in some cases it's hard for them to reach the window
to observe other cars, or control the car, in addition to that their weak body
is not prepared for such experience. So the emphasis should be on giving every
single stage in growth its best details and games that allow this person to get
ready for the younger ages.
My
brother is a real example about this topic, he's 14 years old, he's in grade
eight, and everyday he arrive from school, he start nagging because he want to
drive the car. He usually says, "All my friends drive so why I
don't?!" My dad usually says it's early; you'll not drive until you become
excellent in school, but this is not really a convincing or motivating reason,
and here is the role of the school. Schools play the most important role in
educating the parents about such a topic, and I'm sure that no school talks
about this point, but it's a must. They must introduce these topics in the
meetings of parents, so that they'll become aware and careful in every decision
they create!
